                               The Frog King

The story of Cupid and Psyche is one that tells of how Cupid ended up falling in love with the woman he was supposed to be killing. However, certain events lead to other events and Cupid and Psyche end up getting married, but Psyche never knew what Cupid looked like. For all she knew, he was a hideous monster. Eventually her curiosity got the best of her, and late one night she pulled out an oil lamp and shone it upon her husband.
What she found was certainly not a hideous monster, but the most handsome man she had ever seen. For he was actually a god, and the son of Venus.

Like this, the story of “The Frog Prince” is one of uncertain love. For the frog helped the young princess but said that for him to help her, she would have to allow him to sleep in her room, feed him, etc. She promised this, and then left the frog. He found her, and she then had to do all that she promised. But the princess found the frog hideous and did not love him.She got fed up with him when he was pestering her about sleeping with her in her bed, and she promptly threw him against the wall. When she did this, he turned into a handsome prince. She then loved him, and they were happy together.

Both of these stories are centered around looks and how they affect relationships. For Psyche, unlike the princess, did love Cupid but got curious about his looks later. The princess did not love the frog for he was all slimy and gross, but then she did once she saw he was a handsome prince. They both lived happily ever after, but only once they both were content with the other and their looks.
