From Rags to Riches

                                            From Rags to Riches

The saying from rags to riches originated from the classic story, Cinderella. Where the poor and lonely girl turns into the bride of the prince. She goes from her literal rags, to becoming the wife of the richest man around. But nowadays, could that happen? Cinderella’s story was filled with magic and her wealth was the result of a marriage, but is that a realistic thing that could happen today?

Realistically, no. There are the rare occasions that people will marry wealthy people, and thus they themselves will become very wealthy. We most commonly see this with celebrities, and not really with princes considering America does not have princes and princesses. Prince Harry from the UK did marry someone that wasn’t necessarily a princess, so she definitely gained riches by marriage. But in America, the equivalent would probably be celebrities. They are popular, wealthy, and very successful since we are aware that they exist. However, finding a rising celebrity is not as easy as it sounds. You would have to live in the right place, and see them at the right time. (Much like Cinderella honestly.)

The magical aspect of this would not be realistic at all. For our world nowadays is not filled with animals that talk and help you with your everyday chores and activities. Not only that but if we looked at the Disney version of Cinderella, I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a Fairy Godmother. (If I do, she isn’t doing much.) So, I think that the only way that one would be able to turn from rags to riches would be from either marriage or by becoming a self-made rich and prosperous person.
